Cherry Pecan Nuggets

INGREDIENTS:
1 CUP SHORTENING 1 3 OZ. PACKAGE SOFT CREAM CHEESE
1 CUP SUGAR 1 EGG
1 TEASPOON ALMOND EXTRACT 2½ CUP FLOUR, SIFTED
¼ TEASPOON SODA 1 CUP FINE CHOPPED CRACKIN’ FRESH PECANS
½ TEASPOON SALT MARASCHINO CHERRIES (HALVED)

CREAM SHORTENING AND CREAM CHEESE TOGETHER, ADD SUGAR, EGG AND ALMOND EXTRACT. SIFT DRY INGREDIENTS TOGETHER AND STIR INTO CREAMED MIXTURE. CHILL DOUGH. FORM INTO 1” BALLS. DIP BALLS INTO NUTS. PLACE ON UN-GREASED COOKIE SHEET. PRESS A CHERRY HALF INTO CENTER OF EACH COOKIE.

BAKE AT 350 DEGREES F FOR 10 TO 15 MINUTES.
